Save Our Piano!
Our sanctuary piano has been accompanying our praises to the Lord for almost 70 years and has been a part of many great occasions in our church. From weddings, funerals, baptisms and special music performed by the choir to sacred pieces performed by our current exceptional pianist, Leslie Waddell, our sanctuary piano is, and we would like for it to remain, an integral part of our worship services.
The piano is a Conover brand produced in 1929 which makes it 97 years old this year. This brand is an exceptional example of some of America’s most well-made pianos. We are proud to have this great piano and are grateful to the Swift family who donated it in the 1950s.
Our sanctuary piano underwent a portion of much needed restoration in 2019 to make the piano usable until extensive work could be done. The time has now arrived for more work to be done so that we can enjoy it for at least another 60 years. The church board has voted to proceed with the full restoration so that the Conover piano can continue to be used in our services.
If you would like to be a part of this effort and would like to donate towards restoration, please mark your donations “piano restore” and send to our office or drop in the offering plate. We praise God and are grateful for this opportunity to enhance and restore our piano for use for many worship services and celebrations in the future.
Caution!
We are finding that scammers are increasingly targeting churches and we want YOU to be prepared and safe. We will NEVER solicit donations for our church or any other charitable group by mail, email, or phone. If you receive such solicitations, DO NOT REPLY.
